Hey guys I've just been in a gold mood lately! I thinks its the Gustav Kilmt book i've been looking at or Fra Angelico's work. I spary painted my Sam Edelman bootS and this crown I made gold. I decided to combine two of my gold dresses together to make a strong but decadent look.I'm also wearing my silver and gold plated belt from Mexico that my dad gave me! I'm love with it! I wear it with practically everything.

Current Obsessions

Hello everyone, I'm going to let you in on my current obsessions. I'm really love the Giambattista Valli Pre-fall 2012 collection. I love all the multi-colored furs and all the golden hues. It was really luxurious and elegant. I'm OBSESSED with the skirt suit with a fur trim! it's so perfect! A great skirt suit is always chic in my opinion.

I'm also OBSESSED with the Balenciaga Spring 2012 ads! I love the hair and makeup! The apartment is really great. I love the urban modern feel to it. the ads have that coolness factor that Balenciaga always seems to have!

Creation

So today I was really inspired by the Rodarte Fra Angelico collection and usage of gold. I began to think of this cage like/filigree dress. I got the shape from Queen Elizabeth I. I wanted the effect of a golden angelic warrior princess, if that makes any sense. I also thought it reminded me of Gustav Klimt and his use of gold leafing. I had James take a photo of me in nude underwear and my nude heels. Then I adjusted some portions to appear more feminine and printed the photo. I used a gold leafing pen that my mom has to create the dress, shoes, and headpiece. The headpiece is very much inspired by the Rodarte one but i'd want it a little cleaner and sharper. I only wish I could have this outfit made for me!! that would be perfect! Until then I guess this image will keep the dream alive.

Los Angeles

So yesterday James and I went to LA to go to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It was really awesome and so grand. We started taking pictures and no one said anything to us but when we came to the Rodarte installation they told us to stop. We weren't using the flash so I don't think it was doing any harm. We still got some pretty good photos, some are a little blurry but I think you'll get the idea haha.

Okay so the dresses were AMAZING!! I LOVED the feathers,the gold metal detailing and the swaroski elements. My favorites are the orange dress with the gold starburst detail on the waist and the center gold dress with the matching gold starburst headpiece/hat. I'm OBSESSED with the headpiece!! First of all, if it was for sale and second, if I had the money i'd buy it in a heart beat! it's totally me! the whole collection was me! I wish I could just own the whole collection! I'd be SO happy hahaha!

I had to make a stop at the Balenciaga store on Melrose to see what they had.
OMG they had the beautiful floral print shirts and skirts from the Fall 2011 collection. oh and they had this AWESOME purple fur and leather jacket!! I want it SO bad! There was an older woman trying on dresses and being too fierce. She reminded me of Kristen McMenamy! We headed down Melrose and went to Decades to have a peek inside. They have SO much Chanel! I wanted this red and white Chanel suit! it was so chic! Then we walked down more and we stopped at this little record store.James got Roxy Music's Stranded album. Our trip concluded with some pizza then we headed home.

Happy New Year everyone :) I'm sorry I haven't been updating the holiday season has been hectic for me. I'm going to go to LA this thursday to go see Rodarte's Fra Angelico Collection at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. I can't wait to see it and i'm going to be documenting my trip so i'll be sharing that on here shortly after the trip. I'm really excited to get out of town. I need a break from the agonizing dullness of suburbia. I hope that 2012 brings new opportunities and experiences.

Drawings and Dreams

Hi everyone, today I was trying to do a photoshoot to get better photos on my new Giambattista Valli for Macy's Impluse dress. Unfortunately circumstances weren't in my favor and i've been forced to save it for tommorrow. I'm hoping it works out but i'm optimistic. Also I wanted to share with you that I've come to realization that I do infact want to transition into a woman. I know i've stated my views on androgyny and what not, but as time has gone on i've felt more uncomfortable with being just that. I've felt this way since I was young but since I had a bad experience with expressing when I was young, it made me repress the thought. I'm looking into getting a therapist for evaluation and hopefully I can get on hormones soon :)
I also have thought of a new name, well its one that James has been calling me for a while. It's Elisandra, he used it for me in comparison to Alessandra Ambrosio hahaha but it's stuck with me and I like it :) but now for the post I wanted to show you guys the drawings I drew recently.

Isabella, We Are Rising

So I wanted to do this post earlier on saturday, November 19th. It was Isabella Blows birthday and she would been 53. Isabella has become a huge muse for me. I love that she was all for the creative image and dressed herself like living art. Though Anna Dello Russo really introduced me to wearing hats/headpieces, Isabella fueled it even more. She also made want to get more hats, crazier hats. I think that her discovering Philip Treacy was another thing validated her as the hat queen! I love how passionate she was about fashion! Her talking about depression was another I could relate to because I suffer the same way. It really saddens me that she had to end her own life but I can sympathize with why she did. Life is a hard thing and sometimes it really gets the best of you. I think thats why it's important to celebrate her, because it's a way to show that what she did and stood for is not lost in vain. She was a true artist and will always be remember<3

It Ain't Easy

So I wore this outfit on thursday and I went to go get my application at forever 21. I'm hoping to get a job as a visual merchandiser since my friend Gabriel did it for awhile. I also like that I wouldn't have to deal with alot of people and be able to be creative. Working retail seems like too much and dealing with customers can be very stressful. I thought my vintage Ocsar De La Renta dress would be a good look at me statement and red holds peoples attention and is a color of power. I pulled my hair back loosely to kinda create a 1920's feel to it.

So today is Daphne Guinness birthday! She's such an inspiration, I love her creative and imaginative sense of style. she's a Scorpio and I feel that alot of Scorpios have an unique sense of style. My niece is one and she's got her own way of dressing just as Ms. Guiness does. I think she does wonderful things with supporting the art of fashion and haute couture. I love her outlook on clothing and how she uses it as armor. I definitely can relate to that, some clothing really make you feel secure and confident. I also love that she collects Butteflies and how she has them all over her apartment. she really is something else, a real original.

So this outfit was inspired by the Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2011 collection. I also wanted it be ladylike but still edgy. I thought the purple lips would add a cool edge. I decided to shoot in front of my Mona Lisa print cause I just loved it so much! We tried to do a spot light for the lighting of these pictures. It kinda reminds of if we took photos at the Lourve. I really wish I could see the real painting in person. James saw it when he went to Paris when he was 14, he said it was a real experience. I want to go to Paris so bad!

Out of The Blue

So this outfit first began when I was looking at the Giambattista Valli for Macy's Impluse and I saw this skirt. I loved all the texture and how it looked like flower petals. I remember that my friend Cha Cha told me that it would be cool to make a skirt out of a pillow I have that has a similiar texture to the Giambattista one. So I ran with that idea. I cut the pillow up and my mom sewed it into a skirt. It reminded me of fish scales instead of flower petals, So I paired it with my vintage blue top and added my fish necklace to make it look like it's swimming in the ocean. I thought it would be cool to use lots of blue props to make it seem like I was underwater.

So with this post I wanted to show off my new white dress. I love the length of it and it's really light weight, so it's perfect for summer. I paired it with my new heels to have a kind of more sexy/fetish vibe. I wanted the look to be like a mix of a 40's glamorous woman and a pin up like Betty Paige. I think that adding a sexy appeal to the lady like chic is a cool trend for the Fall/Winter 2011 season. It was seen at Louis Vuitton and Givenchy. Prabal Gurung even had some fetish aspects in his Spring 2012 collection. hope you guys enjoy!

Prabal Gurung 2012

So I had recently looked into Prabal Gurung during the Resort season and I thought his work was pretty good but I wasn't totally excited about it. That completely changed after I saw his spring 2012 show! It was AMAZING! I loved the color palletes, all the prints, and the touch of bondage to it! I want these clothes on my body!! He's definitely a designer i'm going to be looking out for next season! oh and I LOVED the makeup! i'm going to have to do my lips like that!!

I Need To Get You Out of Your Cage

So with this post I was really inspired by the Givenchy fall 2011 silhouette. I loved the tight lady-like pencil skirts. I thought that one of them would be (ideally)a perfect contast to my loose vintage Givenchy jacket. Since I don't have the money to buy one of those lovely skirts I wore my crochet skirt. I think it gives the same feeling and also brings the sexiness of the collection to this outfit. I hope you guys enjoy it!

The 40's Effect

So in the past few weeks i've been liking the idea of longer skirt/dress lengths and nipped waistlines. That silhouette was really popular during the 1940's and it's making a come back for the new Fall/Winter season. I recently got the July issue of Vogue Spain (Vogue Espana) from my mom who got it while she was in Cancun, Mexico. In the magazine is an article focusing on the 40's trend and I knew I had to share it. It's a pretty good story board for the look. I'm looking forward to wearing this look come Fall/Winter. Great White Wings Beating

So I wanted to show you guys my little creation. I made this feather dress using my feather shrug and stole. I pinned them togehter and used my white lace dress as a skirt cause the shurg wouldn't full cover the back. I'm really happy with the outcome! It reminds me a bit of Alexander Mcqueen, even though i was just trying to make a non desprict feather dress. I was initially inspired by Anna Dello Russo in her white feather Lanivn dress she wore during NYC Fashion week a while back. It also has a bit of a Black Swan feeling too, but when she played the White Swan.

Let Me Know If You're Lonely Babe

I wanted to show off and few new things that I got and I was getting alot of inspiration from Roisin Murphy for the initial styling. As I began to fully style the outift I realized that it was similar to the way the women in BBC's Pride & Prejudice (1995) The feather hat, the white gloves and the soft gold accents were the specific things that reminded me of it. It also goes with the Roisin Murphy song "Let Me Know" becasue both are dealing with matters of the heart. In a way it's my modern take on Pride and Prejudice.

Think Pink!

So with this post I have about 3 inspirations for this oufit. First is the song Think Pink from the movie Funny Face. I had gotten this light pink dress a while back and couldn't think of how I wanted to wear it. The second inspiration is Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's,I took alot of my styling for this from that. The third one is the 1960's in general. The 60's are going to be a big trend for this coming fall/winter. I've always loved the 60's style so it's a plus for me! :D

Balenciaga Couture

I wanted to talk about Balenciaga as a couture house for this post. Cristobal Balenciaga was an amzing couturier and was responsible for giving women a new silhoutte. He was the first to remove the waist, then raise it and then drop it. His tunic dress and chemise dress were wildy replicated by large ready-to-wear manufacturers. "He is the master of us all" said Christian Dior talking about Balenciaga. Cristobal also has taught some great fashion desingers that are still known today. Oscar De La Renta, Andre Courreges, Emanuel Ungaro, Mila Schon, and Hubert de Givenchy all were his protégés. The legacy of Balenciaga couture is incredible!

So now that you have some history on the House of Balenciaga,I want to say that I would love from Nicolas Ghesquiere to do a haute couture collection. I think he could do an amazing job with couture. He has already done amazing couture inspired pieces for the ready-to-wear collections. I think it would be very interesting and exciting to see how Nicolas would produce couture. I certainly would be a buyer of his couture if of course I had the money to do so. I think Nicolas has the potential to just as innovative and forward-thinking as Cristobal was in his time. I also think that it if Givenchy can prodruce a haute couture collection now and Hubert de Givenchy was a protégé of Crisobal Balenciaga. It only makes sense that Balenciaga should produce a couture collection now. I'm confident that Nicolas could do a great job producing a couture line for Balenciaga. I'm for Balenciaga Couture Spring/Summer 2012!

Nicolas please do a couture line for Balenciaga! I'm sure i'm not the only one who wants that!!

Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Fall 2011

So this past couture season, Giambattista Valli showed his first Haute Couture show. I've always liked Giambattista, his work always has a 60's flare. It reminds me a bit of Balenciaga Couture with all the volumous shapes. I really enjoyed this colection. The color palette was so beautiful and I LOVED the salmon/pink color. I loved all the feathers and all the embroidery. It was just so cinematic.

Stellar Explosion

So Heres the blue top I mentioned in the last post! I'm in love with it! it reminds me of Balenciaga in general as well as some of the tops in the Spring 2008 colection. I also love the texture and kinda of fuzzy/prickley look of it.I also love that it sparkles! Now that I think of it, this also reminds me of the dresses made of Crin in the Spring 2009 collection. I also really love my new chunky faux pearl necklace! I think it goes well with the top.

I Don't Do Too Much Talking These Days

So this Wednesday I got this great robbin's egg blue dress at my favorite vintage shop! It reminded me of something that Margot Tenebaum would wear if she was going to a couture show.I did a hazy smokey eye like Gweneth Paltrow had when she played Margot. I really love the sparkley buttons on the dress. The sheer overlay adds such a romantic feel to it. I paired the with these awesome Magenta earings I got too. I also got this great cropped skarkley blue top. I'll show you guys that in the next post!

So todays post is on an outfit I came up with this morning inspired by Gucci's F/W 2011 collection. I added some artifical roses to poorly replicate those wonderful flower shrugs that were shown towards the end of the show. I also really loved the color palette. The vibrant jewel tones are just so rich and perfect for fall or even in summer. I choose to show more of the magenta/hot pink shades of the collection. I think my dress is a perfect shade of pink on me! I love it! I used the long sleeves of the dress to create a one shouldered look. I think it makes for more of a Gucci silhouette.

So I'm gonna show you guys some of my favorite looks from the Resort 2012 season. There were alot of good collections, makes me wish I could go on a luxurious vacation and wear all these great clothes!

Balenciaga

I love the volume on the cropped jacket and silk shorts. I also love the print on the shorts. The shoes are really cute, I love the woven leather/fabric on it.

I love this color combo! so pretty!I really like the dropped waist and the use of silk.

I love the fit and flow of the pants, as well as the print! The batwing top just tops off the outfit! I love it.

I love the print and shape of this dress! The color palette is really great too!

This white dress is just too cute! I love how playful it is, and the hat and lace gloves are a fun touch.

I love this dress! I love the off the shoulders look and how flowy it is. The fur bag is to die for! and I love that they paired it with beige oxfords.

I love the stripes! especially on the fur! So Amazing! and the shoes are really cute too.

I love the embellishment on the dress it's so pretty and reminds me of a garden. The cropped fur jacket was also a nice touch to the look.

I really this gown and the feathers at the bottom of it, as well as the jewelry. The heels are really great too.

So I came up with this look a while ago and I finally decided that right now was the right time to show it. I used some lace fabric with gold fringe that my mom had laying around and turned into the one shoulder top. I used my rose print dress as a maxi skit and tied the sleeves around my waist. I hope you guys enjoy this makrshift evening look.

So with this post, I wanted to get back to the really eccentric style that I love. I recently got into Isabella Blow, since her tragic death happened for 4 years ago May 7, 2007. I began researching her and fell in love with her! she had such a passion and creativity for fashion. it's quite inspiring! She found Alexander Mcqueen and was a bigger supporter of his work. Contessa and The Duke

So I recently I got the awesome Vintage maxi dress that's from Neiman Marcus. I really love the print it on it. It reminds me of Morrocan/Byzantine architecture. I thought I such a grand dress, that I decided to shoot it infront of these big paintings my mom has in the living room. They're replicas of painting done by a famous contemporary Russian artist Sergey Smirnov. He did his painting all by candlelight, combining the past and present with his unique portraits.

No More Dreaming Like A Girl, So In Love With The Wrong World

So with this post I wanted to create a dream. I wanted it took look like a fairytale, something really romantic. Life has been pretty stressful lately, So I felt that I needed to escape in my clothes. I was really inspired by Florence + The Machine's song Blinding. it's kind of a paradox because it's saying no more dreaming and all I want to do is dream. I guess for me it's a conflict of not being sure if my dreams are leading me in the right direction or if I should just wake up to reality. I'm feeling more confident about my dreams though. :)

adding a pop of Green is really big for spring! I chose to color block it to add another trend to the hue. Also moody Blue's, are also a big trend So I guee there's kinda 3 trends at once haha

My Valentino

So upon finding this vintage Valentino dress at a local vintage shop I knew I had wear for a post! I really loved that the black dress allowed me to put alot of jewelry on and my headpeice really topped it off I think haha. The dress is a really good winter attire, it has sweater like sleeves but the actual dress is very structured. James thought it would be a cool to a studio type set up for this dress and I think it's pretty cool, but we'll have to do more looks for it not to get boring haha. I'm also featuring some lovely ladies in Valentino as well.

So I found an amazing sheer jacket/button up top by Comme des Garçons at a thrift store!! It was such a lucky find! So honoring the Japanese style, I decided to do this look with a top knot it's very samuri warrior haha. I thought the leather pants would be a good contast to light and sheer top. I'm absolutely in LOVE with this Comme des Garçons piece!! it's suprisingly soft! the way stands so stiffly you'd expect it to be rough but it's not! and you can wear it in different ways! DIE!

The Dog Days Are Over

Well I like to say Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone! I took these photos yesterday and totally forgot today was St. Patrick's Day but I'm wearing green So i guess it kinda worked out haha. So with this post I wanted to show off this great Calvin Klein dress I got on Tuesday! I paired it with my new Max Studio leopard heels. It's really starting to heat up here! Concrete Jungle

So with this post I basicsally want to show of my new leopard skirt. So when I heard Anna Dello Russo on Net-a-porter.com say that "Leopard is my new camel" I knew I had to do an all leopard outfit. I turned my Leopard scarf into a one shoulder top. I got alot of stares for people haha but it was fun! :D

So I found this great chinese style dress at the salvation army! I loved that it was gold and it also reminded me of louis vuitton S/S 2011. I paired it with a feathr shrug worn backwards and then off held with clutch like how they did at Prada S/S 2011.

The Thrill of It All

So I wanted to be very bright, veiled, and sparkly to sum it up quickly. I think that the clothes are really glamorous and styled in an eccentric and luxurious way.
I wanted to be very rich and bold. I've become so tired with all black, I think colors are really fun and can totally make you feel differently, more happy and positive. Anna Dello Russo is a great example! she wore such bold and bright colors to Milan Fashion Week! she always has fun with fashion!

My Fashion Shower!

So The inspiration for this post is Ann Demeulemeester and Patti Smith. I've been a fan of both for some time now. James really got me into Patti Smith and ever since i've seen Ann Demeulemeesters spring 2008 collection I've liked her designs. Since I got this awesome Ann Demeulemeester vest at my favorite vintage shop in town I have been totally obsessed with Ann Demeulester! It was such a lucky find! I was inspired by the color palette in the Fall 2008 collection. Patti Smith has been a long time muse for Ann Demeulemeester, so I thought styling the coat in a more masculine way would make it more Patti's style.

Mother of Pearl

So I was inspired to use pink accents because of Rachel Zoe's Valentine's Day picks on what to wear. Plus, I already painted my nails hot pink with gold glitter last week so adding pink heels and lipstick just completed the look. I also used a lace wrap skirt to create a one shoulder dress, staying true to my manipulation clothes that has become a sort of trademark lol. The most exciting part of this shoot however was that I got to hold my grandma's puppy Beauty. She's a miniture Chihuahua and she's so adorable!!! I had fun watching her and playing with her! :D

What's real and make believe

So this post is basically an update on inspirations. Lately i've been getting into Frida Kahlo's work since i've been told many times that ressemble her. I really love her work and the passion and pain she put into them. I loved the way she did her self portraits. She didn't just paint herself in front of a plain background ther was always something else going on and it always gave you insight on her feelings. I've also been really getting into Roxy Music, they're such an awesome band! I find myself listening to them for most of the day lately. Brian Ferry's voice is just so easy to listen to! Ann Demeulemesster has also peaked my interest since I found a Vest by her at my favorite vintage shop for only 30 bucks!

The Suit

So as of late, i've been kinda obsessed with power dressing, and wearing a suit. I wanted to show the different power/feel of skirt suit and pant suit. I liked the idea of the masculine and feminine versions. I liked that it allows me to show my versatility. I'm also becoming a fan of slacks tha bell at the bottom, they really elongate the legs. It makes me look so much taller than I am(i'm 5'3"). It also worked out that my fashion icon Anna Dello Russo wore a bunch of suits/tuxedos during Men's Milan Fashion Week.

Nature Adventure

So I thought I'd let you in on an exciting Sunday I had this past weekend. I was having light conversation with my mom in the living room, as usual, when I noticed some pretty big birds circling over the wall outside through the living room window. I assumed they were hawks or falcons at first but, in fact, they were VULTURES! I WAS FREAKING OUT! They're so BIG! I love their wings span and how wide they are!

Vultures mean one thing, something died recently! I had to find out what they were getting ready to pick apart! So as quick as possible I was in the car and ready to investigate! Turns out:

It was a POSSUM! Poor thing! Not that there isn't a huge population of them or anything hahaha. Possums and skunks always lurk around by my side of town. Tons of wildlife surrounds my house. Kit foxes, rabbits, ducks, geese, cranes, and bats to name a few more.

oh, and you can't forget the local feline life! ;p

Once James arrived we decided to keep indugling in nature and what it has to offer!
We searched(trespassed) through all the cool wooded areas past all the housing! The ground was dotted in snake holes and packed with hiding rabbits! The biggest part of the walk was what James found lying in a pile of dirt and broken sticks!

Hello Rabbit pelvis/Spinal cord! Kind of morbid, I know, but hey, the Native Americans did it, right?! Lets not be wastful now! I'm planning on making some cool
new jewelry so stay on the look out! I hope you enjoyed hearing a bit about my nature-oriented Sunday! :)

My Favorites for Spring 2011 part 1

This post is to show some of my favs from Spring/Summer 2011. I have alot more that I like but i've been feeling sick so I'm going to just break it upp into a few different posts. BALENCIAGA SPRING/SUMMER 2011
Nicolas is constantly suprising me with the material he uses, everytime I see a new piece I want to touch it and examine it. The way he manipulates fabric and shape is so amazing. I loved the more harder/masculine touch to it as well. It gave the woman an empowerment, by being able to still look tough but in a fun, interesting and feminine way. I loved the printed plastic and plastic lace along with all the bright colors and metallics. I loved the reinvented tweed pring used throughout. I thought it looked beautiful on the light colored sparkling/metallic dresses absolutely LOVED those dresses! I really did enjoy the shoes very cool, easy and chic. A wonderful and innovative collection!

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN SPRING/SUMMER 2011
I really enjoyed this collection. Sarah did an excellent job in translating Lee's aesthtic into something new and fresh while still making it look very McQueen. There's a seamless transition to it, like It makes you forget that McQueen himself didn't design this collection. I really loved that the woman is being taken back to nature it's so beautiful! I think it's because i'm a Taurus,that I have an anate love for the earth. I loved the butterfly dresses, especially the orange Monarch butterfly dress!! LOVE it!!! I also really loved the flowing dresses in golden browns with oranate belts! So romantic and ethereal! In all wonderful collection!

RODARTE SPRING/SUMMER 2011
Rodarte is constantly making unique and interesting clothes. I love the color pallatte with all the beautiful browns, golds and blues. I enjoyed the belle/full skits on the dresses. I loves pebble like printed dresses! The white one was just so BEAUTIFUL ugh LOVE it! I also LOVED all the final long dresses with the full skirl on top the flow down into a longer dresses! It's so versatile! you can wear them so many differnt ways!!The Shoes was also so FUCKING AMAZING!! I want them!!

Sorry for the lack of posts! my life has gotten a little hectic but i'm getting back on track and doing more posts! I'm actually styling my friend Samantha today, so i'll do a post on that and you guys can see how I style other people :) With this post I wanted to show off the great fur coat I found at the Salvation Army. I think belting it and wearing as a dress really gave the coat character. It's really big, too big for me but I think it looks fine on me styled this way. I really this coat! it's so warm and I love that the sleeves are so long it almost makes me look like I have paws haha.

The Golden New Year

So this outfit was inspired by Alexander McQueen's Fall 2010 collection. I thought I would greet the new year with a big bang! I added the headpiece for more drama. I really loved the angel print on the skirt and cape. I felt like a modern day Joan of Arc. This year i'm going to be also working on my porfolio for Styling. So i'm going to do some blog posts of me styling other people, so be on the look out for those. I hope 2011 brings new experiences and good opportunities.

Christmas Gifts

So this post is an oufit I put together using a good of what I got for Christmas. I thought that we should should shoot this at the pond we have in my neighborhoods golf course. I thought the sky and the pond with the ducks looked really nice with the outfit. Orange and Magenta

So This post was inspired by Balenciaga and their use of Orange and Magenta in the late 1950's. Orange is my favorite color and I love the way it looks with Magenta. I thought it would also compliment the new Balenciaga inspired ankle boot that I got. It's like a pyschedelic 60's mod look.

The Arrival

I really love that it has kimono style sleeves! I was really inspired by ADR when she posted a picture on her blog of her in a floral maxi Jil Sander dress. I thought I need more maxi dresses and a colorful one too! Lets just say I lucked out with this dress!

Emotional Landscapes

This this post I wanted to show off the new shape that I created with my Jessica McClintock dress. I did it by foldering the top down so it covered the skirt creating a new skirt. I paired it with a white jacket and faux fur vest that I wore upside down. I really love the pleated bottom on jacket and how it gives an almost bubble shape. I'm always really attracted to clothes that have shape. I think that clothes with shape and structure give a look that is so awsome. I really love the look it's one that I always seems go back to.

So sorry for the lack of posts! I finally got a new flash for my camera and we did a shoot yesterday. I wanted to show of this wonderful light peach dress I got on sale at a Vintage shop. I'm a bit dissapointed with the flash I got it kind of overexposes the photos, But i'm hoping me and James can fix that but none the less I think the photos turned out pretty cool. I'm going to be posting alot more now! I have so many new outfits to show off! I even made a dress out of old fabric my mom had!

Heads Up

So with this post I wanted to show off my new head piece I got at a vintage shop. I realized that many of the people that inspire me style wise have worn a head piece at one point. I think a head piece really adds a great,fun and eyecatching focal point. It's great for portraits/head shots because it adds interest to the head and face. I really want to get more headpieces in the future! I want headpieces of things like Anna's cherry headpiece or Lady Gaga's lobster headpiece. I also took Anna's advice and kept the makeup natural so I didn't end up looking like a transvestite lol. I think headpieces are really for someone with eccentric style, So if you're not very eccentric this look probably isn't for you. I just really love excess and bold styling.

I 'm planning on using for another post thats inspired by Chanel because there was alot of multi fur coats in the F/W 2010 collection. Here I styled it with my python skin boots and rabbit fur bag. I thought that wearing all animal skin would look cool and add a kind of theme. Even if you don't like real fur I hope this inspires you to at least try faux fur. I think the look and feeling of fur really adds a luxious effect. Oh and side note: Does anyone know how to keep fur from shedding cause this one sheds a bit and so does my white fur :( and i'd really like to try and stop that please let me know!

So here are my new boots! I really love them! I find myself wanting to pair them with everything! Check out the great collar on this vintage coat! I think the collar and the boots add alot of drama. We decided to shoot this out front for a more candid/open feel. I really loved the changing trees all around my neighborhood so I'm glad we got to show those here too :). I got stared at while doing this post, this weird guy was just looking at me with his mouth open as he passed by in a van hahaha it was funny.

So this post was inspired by Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2011 collection. I had found this dress at the begining of summer. I origanlly wanted it for the whole white/white lace trend that was seen during the Spring 2010 collections. I never got a chance to photograph it well even though i've worn it out a whole lot haha. I'm glad that I waited to photograpgh it cause Dolce & Gabbanna's styling influence really made the dress pop. I love that it's crochet and that I got it before they did this collection, it makes me feel like I predicted the future lol.

You're Such a Slick Little Girl

This outfit and post is inspired by Balenciaga both the Spring 2011 and Fall 2008 collection. I used a vest and cropped jacket to try and mimic Balenciaga's cocoon shape. I also paired flats with this look to give it a more androgynous feel like the Spring 2011 collection. I also like the touch of punk in outfit. I added luxe jewelry to give elegance to the outfit. I think having my hair pulled back gives me a whole new look haha I like it! James said it makes me look more European.

Venus In Furs

So with this post I wanted to show off the luxury of fur and add lots of jewelry to make it more decadent. James created this really cool makeshift studio in his room and we decided to shoot the outfit in an editorial kind of way. I was really inspired by Paris during fashion week and editorials styled by Anna Dello Russo. I thought eccentric, decadent, and chic. I think it turned out well :)

So with this outfit I wanted to show off my vintange jumpsuit and sequin jacket. When I finally had the whole look together I loved the idea of photographing it outside. I liked the idea of all the sparkles from the accessories and jacket glimmering in sun. I LOVE sparkles and sequins! Unfortunately for me today was SO hot!!the jumpsuit is very thick and the jack is really wam as well, so I was DYING. In the end the suffering was worth it! I think the photos turned out well :)

Still In Love: Chanel Paris-Moscou PreFall 2009

So I'm revisting one of my favorite past collections, Chanel Pre Fall 2009. It's a collection that will always be chic for me no matter the current trend. I loved the theme of the Soviet Union/old Russia. The models had a Russian Princess feel that just looked amazing on flim. I LOVED all the head pieces it was so decadant and rich.The photo above was taken in the beggining of 2009, a few months after the collection was shown. I wanted to recreate the whole chanel look and feel but add my own twist. The twist was black lips, cause at the time I was obsessed with black lips and I was trying to make them look not goth. So what better way to make black lips not goth than to pair it with Chanel's Russian dream! It really suprised me that Karl chose to show this idea in a prefall collection. I see this collection as as full ready to wear collection. It had 66 looks all together and it's prefall! Karl is constantly out doing himself! Ok here's some of my favorite looks from the collection and some AMAZING videos of the collection!

So i've been obsessed with my mom's silver fox fur coat ever since I layed eyes on it. My dad bought it for her in 1985 and my mom says it was about $700 back then. It wasn't until I rewatched the Francesco Scognamiglio F/W 2010 show and a big fur coat worn as a dress came down the runway. I knew I had to wear that coat like that.I did have wear an oversized AA v-neck underneath it cause the back barely covered my butt x). It's so soft and warm i'm in love with it!

Oh Baby You're So Vicious

Recently I got this great dress from a local vintage store here. It has great movement and the color is really beautiful. When I had the outfit on I felt strong and almost warrior like. Then James told me that I reminded him of something out of Star Wars. We both laughed and he said "You're like a fierce Jedi" So with that said I wanted to look strong and power like a jedi/warrior. This is really one of my new favorite dresses. I love the way the fringe moves when I walk, it's just a great piece.

So this post is all about androgyny/gender bending. It's a big part of my personal style asthetic. I know i'm not the first person to crossdress or play with gender, but I think it fits my personality. I've always loved the way womens clothing looked but since i'm a male society has told me men don't wear womens clothing. My perspective is that even though certain clothes are ment to fit a certain body, both genders had the same basic appearence. Clothes are just fabric sewn together and have no real gender. What i'm trying to say that soicety shouldn't force anyone to dress a certain way. It takes the fun out of fashion and getting dressed. I'm not trying to say everyone should crossdress or gender bend, people should just wear what they want and what they feel they look good in. So yesterday I went to my dads jewelry store, Del Pueblo Jewelers, to get some money for new makeup and I saw this great necklace. I knew it had to be made of pearls because of it's shine but the shape was very differnt; it was like little clusters or flakes. My dad told me that it was a Keshi freshwater Pearl neacklace. I wanted to take a picture of it with my phone but I left it with James in his car. My dad then told me I could take the necklace home and photgraph it. So I took the chance and ask for the matchin bracelet and he say say yes!I LOVE these pieces!

Hope you enjoy this post! Today James and I went to Micheals craft store to look at art supplies prices for an art project i'm doing for my cousin. So next time i'm going to get a 24in by 36in canvas and white paint. I'll let you in on more of the process when it gets farther along. Now lets move on to an outfit, I was watching Sex and The City (the movie)and I notice that Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing the Nina Ricci F/W 2007 feather sweater.

Nike top with feather boa attached to sleeves/shoulders, Ann Taylor slacks made into a skirt, DIY necklace and Vitage Clutch w/ Mona Lisa pendant form caft store.

The inspiration for this outfit was basically a "rock 'n roll bird". I liked idea of the feathers being on the sleeve as different take on fringe; like the kind that a 70's rockstar would wear. When James was out shooting me, I remember about an incident I had with a bird around this time of year. It was a Yellow-Headed Blackbird and It attacked the big window in my living room. The bird kept hitting it and then stopping to make this scratchy buzzing noise, like very rust hinges sqealing. It then just sat on the window ledge looking in at me. The bird visited me again the next moring around 4 am. It banged on my window and sqawked then eventually flew away. I haven't seen the bird since that occassion but i'm wondering if I ever will.
